About me

I grew up running wild and free in the mountains, chasing sunlight.

After 15 years being a military spouse and living all over the country, we've finally returned to the West and near actual mountains.  Montana is where I was born and raised, but home is where my family lives. New York, Michigan, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee and now Colorado.  Mountains feel like home, and the bright sunshine are both energizing and calming. I love what I do and I love meeting people. Finding the perfect pockets of light, a field of golden grass that when the wind blows you can see it's shape. Beautiful evergreens in winter, and the smell of snow are a few of my favorite things.

I never imagined the life I live now. One thing was consistent though, photography. Since the age of 5 I've had a camera in my hand, I've been married for 15 years to the same man I fell in love with in 2009. Our love story was a cross-country whirlwind of airports, navigating training obligations, and a cross-country move to a state I had never been to. Like many military couples, we have two anniversaries. A legal one and one for the family "back home". My legal marriage was my favorite. Low stress, just us, super cute. The ceremonial one is why I became a wedding photographer in the first place. I might blog that one day, but that's a story for another day. I love telling stories, and I love to be apart of them.  I truly love being around new people and their personalities. It's a puzzle that I enjoy figuring out. But what really feeds my soul are golden fields, beautiful mountains, the sound of laughter and a couple who are in love preparing to build a life together. Love is love and all are welcome in my life and at my table.
